ADA Accessibility Basics

With all CSU campuses required to adhere to section 508, covered in Senate Bill 302, there is much to learn about Accessibility. What does it mean, who are the users, and is your content accessible/compliant with the law. You will gain more information on the topic and learn about the necessary steps to make electronic files accessible.

This class is the prerequisite for the class: Making Web Sites ADA Compliant.

Making Web Sites ADA Compliant

There are a number of tools available to determine if your Web site meets Section 508 and WCAG standards for accessibility. As outlined in CSU Chancellor’s Office Coded Memo AA-2006-41, all new and existing websites and Web content must be ADA compliant by May 15, 2008. This class will review some of the testing tools available including AccVerify and demonstrate how to use them to identify and correct errors.
